[2013] 015/365: Thankful Things Thursday: Blessings

I couldn’t pass this opportunity up. Just look how beautiful the sky is. It was pretty much all over Houston and San Antonio (that I know of).

Each day we move so quickly trying to get through the day. To get by. We never just stop to see the beauty surrounding us. This reminded me of it.

It made me wonder why I try so hard to wake up so early every day before the sun comes up. Work. Never really take breaks. Go home. Do stuff that isn’t really a big importance (except the workout part) and miss the sundown. Why am I trying to just get by? Why am I not trying to find my worth? I need to find out why I’m put on this earth because lately I feel a bit lost.

When you lose something, you typically find something. I finally found someone at work I can relate to and talk to and laugh with … every day. It feels good to finally find that person. She’s not on my team but she is sister/cousin to two of my coworkers on my team. I met her one week before she started at this job and we just clicked! It’s been pretty great and we already have many shared laughter. Sadly, she’s not staying forever here (still in college) but it’s good to finally have met her. Hopefully when she goes to her new career path we still stay friends! Fingers crossed.

It’s nice to have a friend I talk to even when it’s days we don’t see each other. Probably cuz we’re both single. I have no clue what we talk about … probably stupid things. But the conversation is never dull. I got to hang out with Samantha tonight. She got her nails redid and I got a cheap manicure ($10). I probably won’t do it again since they don’t last long but it was fun. We got food and watched more Doctor Who.

Chill nights are my favorite.

Time to plan out what to do tomorrow since it’s my day off!! I know for sure Rocky is going in for a deep dental clean so I won’t see him all day. What to do? What to do?

Me time.

Peace and love!

[2013] 018/365: Memories Live On

I’m really sucking on this 365 … I think I might scrap it.

But surprisingly I’ve made time every day to update. That’s got to mean something, right?

Maybe I’ll stop after 30 days … we’ll see.

This is currently one of the walls of my office.

First two are from Julia & Noel’s wedding.

The next four is with sissy when we went to a bridal expo.

The one after that … work from Go Texan Day.

And well the last one is a Christmas card from one of the ladies at work. My first legit family photo Christmas card. I love it!

Every day almost every day I look at this wall and am reminded of the people around me. Given it’s some of the same people in some pictures (I haven’t printed any of my own), I think back the days of when we took those pictures. It’s nice to have some homey memories when work get tough.

I need more pictures to put up! Who wants to do some photo booth pictures with me please and thank you?

Hump Day is almost over. Tomorrow is my Friday. Ahh … I cannot wait.

Think Good Thoughts.

[2013] 017/365: Quinoa Cantaloupes

Okay … maybe not together. That’s kind of gross.

But I made my first ever quinoa meal! It’s a lot mushier then I’d like. I guess I’ll stay away from the rice cooker to do it’s work and use a regular pot of water.

Anyone know how to make perfect quinoa? I need help!

All wrapped up in a tortilla. Mmm …

And had half of a cantaloupe.

Too much food. But SOOOOOO good!

Workout DONE-ZO. I’ve been feeling a little pierce in my knee so I couldn’t go full out. Hopefully it’ll be better by tomorrow!

Shower. Card writing. Bloggin’. Doctor Who. Sleep.

Tomorrow’s Hump Day. Thank goodness!

[2013] 016/365: Go Texan Day & Oscar’s Recap

Before I talk about my Project 365 for today I just want to say:

Do not eat Ikea’s Swedish Meatballs!

There could be horse meat inside. They state that the ones in US are safe but … they come from the same factory. You’ve been warned. Click on the link above to read more about it!

Today we got to dress up as a cowboy/cowgirl celebrating Texas. Since it’s Rodeo time and stuff. I forgot to dress up. Whoops.

But I still got free bbq! And there was a photo booth there. I took some pictures with some kiddos from work. We also got cookies shaped like Texas, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo bandana, and a HERO bag. Sweet!

It’s no doubt everyone’s talking about the Oscar’s today. I, however, go to Yahoo! News for my Oscar’s recap. And these will do just fine.

Seth MacFarlane was the host and he made a “I Saw Your Boobs” song and dance. A little weird and awkward. But that’s who he is.

ctates_waxing_news via

Channing Tatum apparently waxes … but I don’t care. He’s just on here cuz he is fine.

Sandra Bullock is STILL gorgeous with that face.

Let’s not forget Jennifer Lawerence’s fall. I wasn’t a big fan of her but after that speech … seeing the real her (no not the falling) after the fall. It doesn’t phase her and she can still joke about.

And then I leave you with the outfits. I don’t know who gets to chose what looks good or not. I think Helen Hunt’s dress was perfect seeing how she’s trying to save the world. Yet she get’s a bad grade. Designer doesn’t mean anything!!

Time to read some blogs, watch some Netflix, and hit the hay!

This week is going by TOO slow.

[2013] 015/365: I’ve Got Crabs … Yo!

The delicious seafood kind. Mmm … were they were delicious. I’m not a big fan of crabs. What I mean is, I don’t crave them. But man the amazing cholesterol in there was the bomb! They are actually leftover from last night. Since I wasn’t home, they left a pot of ‘em. Yay yeah. I had three only though and I was DONE.

Which gender do you like to smack on? I like them females. They have the best cholesterol. YUM!

P.S. I spent $60 on Vitacost. Eeps! Much needed though. Can’t wait to get them goodies!

P.P.S. I’m thinking of doing a Giveaway soon. I’m not sure what to give away so … this might take a little while. Keep a lookout though. 😉 If you have ideas of past giveaways you’ve done, let me know!!

[2013] 014/365: Owl Be Damned

Oh my gosh … it’s only day 14 and I already feel drained with this 365. How do people do this?!

Just an F.Y.I. I’m trying out this whole watermark thing to see how it goes. I feel bad not doing it to my old posts but it’s never too late right?

Mallory, Samantha, and I bought a Groupon to:

Merlot 2 Masterpiece
12464 Memorial Drive
Houston, TX 77024
(832) 767-0855

Here is us with our masterpieces.

We picked owls … obviously.

And a close up of my owl.

In the end I wasn’t a big fan of this place. The 2-hour class ended up being almost 3-hours. The instructions weren’t very well dictated and I couldn’t even see what she was doing half the time. I understand that you paint it how YOU want it but If I have to stand up every few minutes to see where she is in the painting then that’s too much work done on my end. The paint didn’t stick well to the canvas either and they expected us to paint the background with a tiny brush. We weren’t too amused by it.

Will I come back here again? Yeah, I guess. I believe in giving second chances with this kind of stuff so hopefully next time it’ll be a better experience.

Afterward, Samantha and I went to go see Identity Thief at Alamo Drafthouse.

Worst service ever! The server did everything wrong. I guess it just wasn’t our day.

The movie was freaking hilarious though. I laughed A LOT! I know critics said it was good but uh … not everyone loves the same thing. That’s all I have to say.

It’s been a fun day seeing the Powerpuffs again.

Can’t wait for our next adventure!

[2013] 013/365: Packages & Mail

Arrived home with two packages.

One which is in that sparkly pink pouch that many people know of. If you know what it is, I’m giving them another chance to redeem themselves. I’ll write a little something about it soon.

I also got doggie cookies for the doggies. A lot of it has been crushed. Bad packaging. Sad day. Doggies still enjoyed the one I split for them.

I also did a Mud Mask!! It’s not the kind you smear on, but the fabric kind. It felt very refreshing. Ahhh … loves!

I love lazy nights after such a long week at work.

But what was better was coming home with sissy already there! Happy Day!

Cannot wait for tomorrow night! I get to see my Powerpuff Girls! Yippee!

[2013] 012/365: Meats Galore

Wow … these titles of mine are horrific.

My Project 365 is down below if that’s what you’re here for!

Just sharing thoughts on stuff I’ve read online:

  • Gas prices are already going to $4! And for the past few days, it’s been rising … soon enough it’ll be $5 a gallon! This isn’t helping my money matters. How will I travel to see my friends all over Texas?!
  • The Postal Service is apparently going to launch their clothing line in 2014 ever since they announced they will stop Saturday mail. I guess they really do need the money. But hey, no complaints here. I’m actually pretty excited to see what they come up with. They do have some pretty good clothing for any kind of weather.

  • One old school clothing is now coming back … overalls. I remember getting made fun of for wearing them but now they’re popular again … apparently. Who’s pulling their old ones out from the back of their closets?
  • There are some bad habits that are actually … good. Things like procrastination, coffee, napping, etc. Of course in moderation though. But now you have an explanation next time someone tells you it’s bad for you! Check out the video here!

Pradaria’s for lunch with the coworkers. Mmm … so much yummy, fatty meat.

The best thing I always eat there and LOVE is the cow tongue. I know some of y’all are cringing. But seriously, don’t knock it til you try it!

I went to Walgreens after work and I saw FOUR post office trucks. What’s up with that?

Too excited that it’s Friday tomorrow. This has been one of the toughest weeks I’ve had since working here. I’m so over it. Hello, weekend!

Think Good Thoughts!

[2013] 011/365: And Liebster Award Goes To …

A few months ago, I took Mum to Whole Foods so she can see why I love quinoa so much. She got hooked and made her first batch today! Ah happy day. It was delicious. I was asked a few days ago what quinoa tastes like … but I have no clue how to describe it. Anyone have a proper description of the taste?

I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award by a gorgeous girl who’s a Texan like me! Everyone meet Blake from Steady Three Sixty and send her some love! If I get nominated every time, best bet I’ll do them all the best I can. These are so fun to me!! Thanks, Blake!

1. Link back to the person who nominated you
2. Write 11 facts about yourself once nominated
3. Answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you
4. Come up with 11 question for the 11 people you nominate

  1. One of the best things ever created: sporks. I want a real stainless steal one that works REALLY well. I would use it ALL THE TIME. Remember Wall-E trying to figure out where to put his spork? Teehee so cute!
  2. I’ve been told I’m “too nice”. I like to believe everyone’s good and they don’t have some kind of ulterior motive. Sometimes that backfires. If you’re honest and loyal to me, I will be one of the bestest friends you’ll ever have. (Not to toot my own horn or anything.)
  3. Speaking of loyalty and honesty, I have trust issues. I’m very cautious in opening up. And once you break that trust, adios.
  4. I’ve only truly liked three wines and I don’t know the name to any of them. Therefore, I’m still on the hunt for my favorite wine.
  5. If someone’s talking and it’s a few words put together that reminds me of a song, I start singing or humming it.
  6. I’ve been told I’m picky with guys and that’s why I’m single. I’d like to believe that’s false. No one likes a fat girl.
  7. My all time favorite song is Scars by Papa Roach. I can relate to that song since it’s been out.
  8. One of my favorite pastimes is watching Chinese Drama. They’re sometimes cheesy and have bad actors but I love them. Keeps me in touch with where I came from.
  9. I dislike feet. Keep them to yourself.
  10. I wish I was a real singer/songwriter. I don’t care if I was sell-out-a-stadium famous. I’d just want to do it for the fun of it and meet amazing people along the way.
  11. I sleep with 7 pillows and three blankets. I don’t sleep ON all 7 pillows and definitely don’t cover myself with 3 blankets. I just like to be cradled by softness.

  1. Do you have tattoos? If so, what is your latest one? If not, would you ever get one? What would it be? I don’t have a tattoo, but it’ll be cool to get a sibling tattoo. Not sure what it’ll be though. If one for just myself, possibly a bow tattoo. I love bows. They’re so cute!
  2. Would you rather cut your hair to the tops of your ears or not shave your legs for six months? Not shave my legs. My leg hairs don’t grow out that fast. Plus, I can just wear pants/jeans! If I cut my hair that short, I’d look like a fat boy.
  3. What is your favorite month of the year? I’ve never really thought about it. I guess I’d say May since it’s my birthday month … and if I was still in college, it means summer break.
  4. If you could only drink water and one other liquid for the rest of your life, what other drink would you choose? Tea. Tea. Tea. Hot tea to be exact.
  5. What is one of your goals you hope to achieve by 2014? Pay off more than half my loans! Lose a few billion pounds. Check out my 2013 resolutions.
  6. What is a TV show that your parents didn’t let you watch when you were little, but you watched it anyway behind their backs? Tom & Jerry. Mum said it was to violent … which it kind of is if you think about it. It worked wonderfully … Brother and I would turn the sound off (since they never talk anyway).
  7. What does your dream house look like? I don’t really have a dream house. I think it’s because I’m not ready to settle down – no boyfriend or anything. Maybe a townhouse/apartment for now. But I would love to decorate it all pretty. Pinterest has been helping me out with that.
  8. If someone paid you ten dollars every day you left the house without any makeup on, how many days would you go out without makeup? I can go forever without makeup. I love makeup. I collect ‘em. But I’ll be fine never having to wear it. So I guess I’d be so rich. Who wants to pay me? I’ll definitely finish paying off my loans easily.
  9. Tell us a story about how you embarrassed yourself in front of your crush in high school. If you don’t have one to tell, describe what would have been the most embarrassing thing to happen. In Orchestra, we usually climb up the cabinets (used to put string instruments) to put up posters on the wall. We tend to jump off after we’re done … I slipped and hit my head on the adjacent cabinet and fell on my ass.
  10. If your job asked you to relocate to the middle of nowhere, would you happily go? Does the middle of nowhere imply there are no people or stores around? If so, probably not. But if it’s like Midland, Texas or something of that sort, yeah of course. They pay so much better too!
  11. What is your favorite thing about the summer season? When I was in college, I’d say the break. Being able to not go to school daily. Now I kind of wished I did. Hmm … Sundress. I don’t wear them much but they’re so cute.

  1. If you can live anywhere in the world, where would that be and why?
  2. Describe your dream job.
  3. What is your favorite part of your body and why?
  4. If you can only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?
  5. What has been the most difficult thing you had to forgive?
  6. If you can have lunch with any 3 people past or present, who would it be and why? What would y’all eat?
  7. What’s your favorite TV show and/or movie?
  8. What’s something you’d tell your 16 year old self?
  9. If you can change ONE thing in your life, what would it be and why?
  10. Describe your most embarrassing moment.
  11. If anything, good or bad happened, who would you tell first?

I understand if y’all don’t do this but it’d sure be nice to learn more about y’all!
