It’s been a whirlwind of a year. Reason I started this blog on New Year’s Day is because I wanted a new start. And because I knew people did recaps every Blogoversary and New Year … and I’m too lazy to do it twice in one year sooooo yep. Here goes!
- First time in a recording studio: back of a house type deal but it was cool to see how everything gets put together. Helped throw some ideas in. I loved it. I wish I was good enough for this line of work.

There has been so much going on this past year and there would be more if I was more consistent with my blogging. It’s been a year of ups and downs but the ups shine through more. I hope you all had a great 2012 because 2013 just begun and it’s going to be a great one!

Got to see Jared last night. Gave me a tour of his apartment, had a beer or two and talked, showed me something he’s working on … music wise, then went to Cane’s for dinner. Sometimes some friendships just work. I’ve only seen him one other time in 5 years and that was a good month or so ago. Love when you’re able to just talk. It’s kind of funny actually. Back when we were in high school I was the talker and he would listen and only talked when he felt necessary. Our roles are reversed now. I’m more reserved and he’s more outgoing. It works. Surprising how 5 years can change a person.

The sky during my 5k Run.
I used this run as my 5k Race time for the virtual Gobbler Gallop For The Love of The Kids. 00:47:31. Time might suck for y’all real runners but it’s better than I thought. Especially since I started running again 2 weeks and 2 days ago … and skipping 3 of my scheduled running days due to going to San Antonio. Yes I know. No excuses so to me I’m just happy I finished. Fracture is a little twingy but other than that I feel great.
Tonight is baking time and prepping for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving Dinner. Eeep!!
And hopefully in the morning I’ll be able to go to 24 hour Fitness and try out the Yoga-lates class. Yay for 3 day passes! 🙂

I just registered for my first 5k. Two to be exact. One is around Thanksgiving time (see how bad I am). The other is around New Year’s Eve (see how much I’ve improved).
Both expensive for my taste but both virtual. After doing last year’s 5k at school (walking it due to fracture) I figure it’s time to run one. It’s not at a location with a big group of people which is good for a beginner but this will push me to work hard at this and hopefully do a real race with real people running around me next year. I’m excited.
Plus it’s for a good cause. All proceeds go to a camp that serves terminally ill children.
And since I signed up, I’m up and running again today. Eek, it wasn’t a good 1.5 miles. But I will push through! I did some strength training after as well. This is only the beginning.
Coworker bought the Stella & Dot catalogue to work so I browsed through it. I want everything in it please. I wish I didn’t have big boobs sometimes because some necklaces do not work with them. TMI? Sorry I’m not sorry. And I wish I had ear holes. I guess I’d have to settle for the rings and bracelets whenever I have some money I can spend on things I don’t need.
My guitar string broke a while back and I’m still crying about it. I’m not great a restringing the guitar. Violin? Easy. Guitar? Not so much. It’s popped many times when I tried so I gave up. I think I’ll give it a try again. Wish me luck! Because I miss playing my songs!

What a horrible start of the week.
What a horrible start to Monday.
I woke up late for work. I got in at 8am instead of my usual 6:30am.
Yes. Super late.
But because we’re a big company, no one really cares if you’re late so as long as you’re here before 9am – I’m assuming – it’s okay.
Anyway, last night I put up my bucket list that I’ve kept for years now. This way, if my laptop ever dies on me, I have it saved. I’ve achieved only 30 or so of the things on that list. How depressing. Hoping this will keep me accountable to actually doing more.
Also I’m debating if I should do my usual runs this week, or take a break because I graduated from C25K.
I’m thinking if I do run, it’ll only be a 30 minute type: 5 warm up, 20 run, 5 cool down. And try to improve on my time.
Then go into some strength traning.
Or maybe vice versa.
I actually went and looked up 5k races coming up but:
- I’m too afraid to sign up for one in fears I will fail
- They cost money which I don’t know if I want to pay in case I fail
- I can’t find one that fits my time and place
Ah, yes. Excuses.
Running a 5k is on my bucket list so I will have to do it one day … hopefully soon.
Oh wow .. June is already here. I’m happy I updated some posts those last few days of May. I still have a few more to do and I would have been caught up! Hoping I can do it all by the end of this weekend but we’ll have to see. It’s my Dad’s birthday weekend. And today Jenny, Tammy, and Sammi are coming down with my Brother including Krypto and Pluto!!
Mum, June, and I are thinking of taking a little vacation in Dallas. Cannot wait to plan the places we’ll eat.
Also, I’ve been looking at different 5k races. I have an urge to sign up for one. Ah! What to do?! I’m afraid if I sign up for one and pay and everything, I might not be able to do it that day if something comes up. How does anyone know what could happen …
Okay. I have to get back to work now. Sometimes Online Training can be tiring. Half an hour before lunch! Mmmm … leftovers. My favorite!
