May The 4th Be With You …

So … my internet gave out on me. It says that it’s connected and everything is fine and dandy … but when I go to use it, it says no internet connection. What. The. Banana. Fudge. Sundae. That’s the reason I hadn’t been able to publish any new posts or answer emails or comment back or read and comment your blog.

Internet will not be back till Thursday … but hopefully now that we’re getting faster internet, it’s worth it.

I pretty much just lounged around with Bruno and we took an hour … or two nap. Then I just watched movies I had around the house and bawled my eyes out.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought. But I’m actually okay with it. I like the peacefulness of not always having to check social media. I even put my phone off 4G so it saves my data plan and it won’t ring as much.

The only thing was having to pay my loans online. That was the only real torture. I called Timothy to ask if I could borrow his internet. Went over to his place and he wasn’t home yet but noticed I could connect my phone to his internet from my car. Score.

I felt homeless in that second. Or actually, it brought me back to when I was in college living at the dorm apartments and the internet would go out. I would drive to school and stay in the car to do my homework. You know, the good life.

So guess where I am now …

Ahh … you guessed it. My weekly, yummy caramel latte in my tummy. Getting fat never felt so good.

Their little promotional thing where you wear something Star Wars and get 15% off. Smart cookies.

They’ve been having a lot of business coming in. I’d like to think it’s because of my promoting. But we all know that can’t really be the reason. Whatever the reason, I better always have a table when I walk in.

I might have the urge to have some posts written in advanced for the next few days but till then, Stay Positive and Think Good Thoughts.

At Cloud Cafe … caramel latte in hand. Channeling F.R.I.E.N.D.S. … or in this case, Amy Pohler.

When I told my Mum where I was for almost over 2 hours on Friday she said “Aw, how sad … you were there for 2 hours and NO ONE came up to you.” That’s her way of saying I’ll be single for life. Thanks, Mum.

Whatever. Coffee shops are for coffee and blogging. Obviously.

Mum gave me a shake of her head when I told her I was headed to the coffee shop to blog. Yes. I’ve become one of those people. Those people … what a joke. This would only be my second time doing this. Maybe after 50 or so times I can say I’m a regular coffee shop blogger.

Miss Co-Owner remembered who I am. So that was pretty awesome. She told me Open Mic Night was very successful to where they were opened til 11pm! Whoo! That’s amazing. I need to find a friend to check it out next time. Any takers?

Sorry. I’ve been going on about coffee shops for a while.

lolo

Point of post: Feedly. My alternative to Google Reader. I’ve been using it for the past few days and though there are some glitches (possible user error) I love everything about it.

Internet dating is a possible future for me … since I can’t find anyone in a coffee shop.

The layout is cleaner than Google Reader. And I love that on the right side there’s a list of stuff In My Feedly. It does annoy me though that sometimes things aren’t in alphabetical order because they put the unread blogs on the top of the list. ANNOYS ME. But I can live with it.

Check it out. Love it like me. You won’t regret it.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Another long day of work ahead but we’ll live through it. We always do.

Till then,

Stay Positive. Think Good Thoughts.

Cloud Cafe

Happy Friday y’all! I’ve been on a hunt for a local coffee shop since forever ago. Starbucks was killing me with all those cardboard cups. I needed a real cup.

Like the ones characters of F.R.I.E.N.D.S hold in Central Perk. Dork status. I know. Leave me be. Still can’t get over how that show could ever be cancelled …

Cloud Cafe pretty much fell in my lap. I pass this place a lot (in the 6 months or so they’ve been opened) but I never had the courage to walk in. It’s always scary going to a new place for me. I saw a deal on Groupon (where I get everything) where I paid $5 for 5 cups of coffee, tea, or bubble tea. What? Score. K. I’m down.

I’m currently sitting down drinking a big cup of Caramel Latte. With a pretty design.

It was empty walking in. Two employees were working just chilling because there’s not much people no one here. I’m sure they get tons of business in the morning or after work time.

It’s a very hidden shop which I love because that means it’s very chill and I can find a seat. The servers are super nice. They go above and beyond to help you out.

Miss Amazing explained the menu to me and helped me out. Hallelujah. I would of just stood there like a dumbass. Then she told me to sit anywhere and she would bring the cup of joe to me. I don’t have to move? Score. I love this place already.

IMG_20130412_114132

I sat down to use the Wi-Fi but it failed. Instead of writing me off as my laptop being a stinker (which lazy people usually do in these situations), she looked up a way to fix it for me. A simple router restart x2. Thank you, Miss Amazing. Life would be bummer without internet at a cafe where I cannot blog.

There’s an Art Gallery where you can pretty much buy off the walls. And the art is pretty impressive. Paintings to drawings to straight up stitching? Yep.

They also have open mic nights. A piano sits in the corner. Miss Amazing, who I just found out is actually Miss Co-Owner, even busted out with some notes. She says she’s only learning but dang … another amazing thing to add to the list of stuff she can do.

IMG_20130412_125539

Couldn’t help it. Just ordered a Hazelnut Latte. Sadly I cannot use one of my 4 remaining vouchers BUT shiet is so good, I don’t mind it. Blogging on the right and blog reading on the left. That would be Lauren’s blog on the left. She’s amazing. Go check her out.

It’s been a good 30 minutes or so and 3 customers already came in. This place is definitely a place to check out. Love it. I will be coming back with or without this Groupon. Hello Fridays off. You and I have a place to go now. 🙂

Spoiled Coworkers

IMG_20121107_112359

I entered in Hollie’s coffee a day contest. I don’t mind if I don’t win.
I was just wondering what category Starbucks Wanna Be would be under.
Hence the face and the confused teddy bear. I got this coffee for free at work. Buy 9 get 1 free.
They only serve a few off the menu. No seasonal or anything. Better than nothing?

IMG_20121107_193322

I baked some Peanut Butter Cookies for the coworkers tonight.
They are super spoiled … obviously.
They smell super delicious and I kinda don’t wanna share.

Tomorrow is my Friday! AND I get to cross something off my bucket list.
You’ll hear about that tomorrow. Can’t wait to share!
Happy Thursday y’all!

Eat Cake, Get Boy … Seriously

Working Out

One of the best feelings in the world? Starting a new workout plan. Let’s do this!

Lots of cardio and strength training!

I feel a little tired afterward but no soreness. Ask me again tomorrow.

Work

IMG_20120910_081324

Work is going well. On some days, I get coffee with the co-s. You can see Dopey in the background. He’s the only decoration I own in my office.

Since we’re on the work topic, we just found out our whole floor will be moving into a different building – not sure when exactly but sometime soon. EVERYONE will have cubicles except for the high high up. I heard these will be fancy cubes. Fingers crossed I get a window seat.

Maybe once we move I will buy some things and decorate my office. Anyone know where I can buy cheap, pretty things to do so?

YOLO? Dumbo.

I saw this on my Facebook feed and I shared it with practically everyone I saw today.

You already know what I’m going to say …

I Love Mail

Seriously loving opening the mailbox and seeing that something belongs to me. The same goes with email. They are so much better than a text or Facebook message. No doubt.

I would put up the picture of the Cosmopolitan and Women’s Health but I am too lazy to cross off my name/address. I’m sure you can picture magazines in your head.

IMG_20120910_164845

Plus, getting things like this is always nice. Alyssa & Greg’s thank you card from the wedding. I know it’s a must to write thank you cards but I never give to expect something in return … even if it’s just a thank you. Seriously, to me, I think them letting me be a part of their wedding is them giving me something. I got to be there for my best friend from high school. Someone I will always treasure in my heart. Thank you, Alyssa. And Greg, you got a good one. Treat her well.

Eat Cake … Get Boy

20120910_202445

I came home and the first thing Mum told me was “EAT CAKE … GET BOYFRIEND.” Really now?

Apparently if you eat this type of cake, you will get a boyfriend. If you already have a boyfriend, he will treat you so well. Same if you’re married.

In my head, I’m obviously saying … bullsh*t. But I eat it anyways. Can you guess what kind it is?

Red Velvet … with Cream Cheese Frosting. In other words, my workout done earlier was useless.

If this is true (which I doubt), I guess I rarely get boyfriends because I don’t really like eating sweets therefore pass up Red Velvet a lot. This will explain why some girls I know that love red velvet always has a new guy after breaking up with one two seconds before. And because I like baking goods, like Red Velvet, and give it away it’s like a metaphor … I give away the guy I like to the friend because I don’t like fighting.

So … guess that explains it.

Thanks Red Velvet … for solving this dilemma for me.

Time Flies

IMG_20120909_125704

Lately I’ve been cleaning my room. Well, sissy and I have and we found stacks of magazines. Some from the 1990s!

Remember the magazine from above? It’s from August 14, 2000. Time sure flies!

Guess Brad and Jennifer ate a lot of Red Velvet since the divorce … It’ll explain how they both got someone new …

*****************

Sissy and Bruno came home. Time to hang out with them a little before heading to bed.

TGTBLIG!

Agora

Our next place we went to for Michelle’s birthday was:

Agora
1712 Westheimer Rd
Houston, TX 77098
(713) 526-7212

I ordered the White Mocha Frappacino | $4.50. It was very yummy. A lot of times when I order this at other coffee places it comes out very bitter, but this, this is different.

I would come back here again but there were cockroaches everywhere. Also we got kicked out because the owners said that they needed the table for other customers. What a wonderful way to do business. NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN because this kind of service, terrible!

That night we went to various bars that included Poison Girl – not enough seats, La Carafe – very dark and creepy since it does advertise themselves as a haunted bar, mostly wine, Bronx Bar – came here for shots, too crowded, and Pearl Bar – a lot of Mexican people, don’t have anything against them but they seem to be very, very drunk and wild, this one lady had her shoes off and was dancing on glass …. okay lady.
