A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes …

… but I don’t think this heart was meant for this wish because I haven’t thought about it in years. I woke up to a crazy dream yesterday. I’ll try my best to remember it. These are my real life friends that showed up in my dream … and my mum. HA. But I only remember who the boy truly is which is so surprisingly weird to me.

Alpha = the boy
Beta = girlfriend of mine and sister of Alpha who in real life aren’t siblings
Charlie = other girlfriend of mine

So what happened was Alpha took me to an orchestra rehearsal and we were both on our laptops. He had to practice his solo with the orchestra so he pulls out his violin and started playing and la la la. Rehearsal was over. While he was packing up, he told Charlie that he liked me and wanted to tell me but was afraid. We all decide to go out for lunch at a restaurant underground. He tells Beta, Charlie, and I to go on ahead and get a table while he puts my laptop along with his own in his car.

Beta walks a few steps ahead of us and Charlie tells me Alpha likes me … a lot. And tells me I need to tell him the feeling is mutual. Upon walking, my mum gets off for lunch and bumps into us and gives us the 3rd degree asking us why we are downtown and the such. We start running away from her ending up underground and Beta twists her ankle and falls to the ground. As I help her out, she tells me I need to tell her brother how I feel or else, let him go.

Funny thing was, all I could remember was freaking out thinking I lost my laptop. Next thing I knew, I saw Alpha coming towards us and I wake up with my heart racing. Wondering what just happened. And telling myself … the laptop is in his car, dumbass.

I wonder how it was going to end and what it all means. *sigh* This makes my life seem so boring.

Got so much accomplished running errands yesterday and even met a stinkin’ cute guy at the UPS store. Made my famILY a Quinoa Chicken Salad. They seem to love it so yay! So pretty and colorful.

Not sure if y’all are aware of this whole Asian Flush being a red flag – no pun intended – for cancer risk. Check out the article. Luckily I don’t get the Asian flush when I drink … but that doesn’t mean I won’t have a cancer risk. Just a little FYI for y’all.

Talk to y’all soon!

Stay Positive & Think Good Thoughts.

Sweet Bliss

I wish every work week was only 3 days long … how much happier would the world be? Given not having everyone off at the same time cuz that’s just crazy. Having all day yesterday AND today off to do NOTHING is amazing. I feel much more refreshed and I’ve gotten SO much done than I’ve had in a long time. Oy … I make life seem so sad sounding.

A year ago today I was in my hometown seeing my Mum’s side of the family after not being back for almost 15 years. It’s surreal how much I could remember from when I was younger. I miss Mum’s side of the family and talk about all the fun I had last summer.

Hong Kong … I will see you again soon. Maybe 2015? Wait for me!

Before the fireworks.

I hope you all had a great Fourth! I got to see Samantha, Mallory, John, and Mallory’s Family for a good hour to watch fireworks near our house. I took an Instagram Vid … but it wouldn’t let me post it on here. LAME. Should of stuck with Vine.

IMG_20130704_224849

Afterward, Samantha and I got hotdogs from Sonic. Apparently hotdogs are the definition of ‘merica. At least that’s what Samantha says. On the way back to my house we got stuck in traffic. Made use of our time and took selfies. Like her scarf? It’s an infinity scarf that I got her for her for part of her early birthday present.

I came home catching up on Pretty Little Liars. Rocky came upstairs (which he never does at night time) and is now sleeping on my bed. Love it since this show is TOO suspenseful.

It feels like the weekend is over and tomorrow should be Monday but I love that it’s only going to be Saturday!

Such sweet bliss.

Have a great weekend y’all!

Family Weekend

Much needed, relaxing weekend. I did nothing but hang out with family which sometimes is needed. We went shopping at the outlet where I only bought a top from The Loft for only $7! And we watched Pitch Perfect and Safe Haven. For me the billionth time but they’re both such good movies. *sigh*

I’ve been busy going through the big stack of magazines that’s been sitting on the corner of my desk for months. Whenever I want to save a recipe or article, I try to see if I can find it online, else I’ll take a picture of it and whatnot to keep … forever … until the internet dies. Or something. Thank you, Evernote.

Sissy got into a car accident yesterday and totaled her car. From the story she told me, it’s a miracle she walked away without a scratch. She pretty much got t-boned and she flipped and slid upside down all the way down the street. M-I-R-A-C-L-E. Glad she’s okay. That’s all that matters.

If she was in Houston right now, she would love eating the few dark chocolate covered graham crackers I made. YUM. Wish I had better brand of graham crackers and dark chocolate though. They definitely make a big difference.

Back to my relaxing rest of the weekend. Then I’ll have 3 days of work and a 4 day weekend to follow. Cannot wait! Yippee!

Getting Fatter

I’ve been M.I.A. and I’m not sorry. Family came and I’d rather spend it with them since I never see them. You’ll be able to see what we did down below which is mostly eating. Bah …

TUESDAY:

IMG_20130611_123811

Lunch with contractor company at the Omni Hotel. YUM!

Happy hour after work with Mallory, Stephen, Samantha and a nice reunion with Judith. It’s been forever but it was nice seeing her.

WEDNESDAY:

OOIAJ for breakfast can never go wrong.

IMG_20130612_140200

THURSDAY:

PhotoGrid_1371439031544

Mary Kay party with Mallory, Judith, Maggie, Mallory’s sister and mum, and her friend from soccer. I bought a few things that ended up being in the 80s. Whoops. Hopefully it’s worth it. Never thought I’d feel like a grownup until I bought expensive crap.

The question asked what kind of eyes I have … and Asian was a choice. Too funny. And might be a little racist …

Went with brother and Tammy, and met up with Jenny and her new beau.

Boilermaker [1/2 pint of beer & paired spirit] | $8

It wasn’t bad. But I wouldn’t get this again.

Campari Popcorn | $5

It’s popped to order and Jenny and I were very excited for this … but when we ate a bite we wanted to throw up. Campari is apparently a type of liquor and once you it it you feel your taste buds turn bitter. Bleugh! Brother threw some limes on there and it helped.

Pork Belly Taco, Pickles, Ranch Dressing Cole Slaw | $8

Holy yum … get this whenever you land in anvil. So good. I wish there was more than 3 mini tacos on the plate though.

This place is unique with the way they make their drinks. So many different kinds. I really liked the Montebello (?) Tammy got … I would definitely get that instead next time!

88 Boiling Crawfish & Seafood
1910 Wilcrest Dr.
Houston, TX 77042

Boudin, fries, crabs, crawfish, oysters … and so much more. It’s like Boiling Crab but better. Next time I’m getting two pounds of crawfish and boudin. Oh my boudin. They have happy hour in where their crawfish is a dollar off a pound. So amazing. I hope not many people find out about it because I love that it wasn’t packed!

After this we watched The Internship. Such a good funny movie. Go watch it if you haven’t.

SATURDAY:

IMG_20130615_205729

Went shopping at the outlet for forever and spent over $80 … whoops.

Came home and had Korean BBQ as celebration for Father’s Day. Mmm …

IMG_20130615_234504

Oreo Cake … too good.

IMG_20130616_003758

Played The Game of Things with brother, Tammy, and Jenny and her beau came over. Too much laughter. Love this game. We stayed up til 2am playing. We are ridiculous.

This place is better than Genghis Grill … in they give you more noodles/rice than GG. Won my heart. I want to go back already.

Brother, Tammy, and Jenny went back to Dallas along with Pluto and Krypto. Now I’m all alone.

Sad life. But love the time I had with them. We ate so much but now that everyone’s gone I’m able to stop eating out as much.

Whoo … long post. Good night.

Thanks A Lot

Pretty sure y’all have been seeing this around the social media like every April 25th of the year. One of the best movies eva so I don’t mind.

I had a light jacket ready … but no takers. Shucks. Next year.

It’s been a tiring week. *sigh* I was so tired I actually scratched my cornea taking out my contacts. Oy vey.

It’s that time of the week!

Thankful for my roots. It’s just that simple. I love being able to speak another language. That also means I have more shows to watch which is the real reason. Win.

Thankful for Facebook. As creepy as Facebook is getting, I’m able to connect with my families in other parts of the world. With some there’s a language barrier (I can’t read/write Chinese except for easy words and they with English) but photos and Google Translate helps.

Thankful for getting every other Friday off. Having that time at the coffee shop lately … so peaceful. But even if I don’t go, it’s just peaceful knowing I don’t have to worry about work which has been stressful because of a certain B.A.B. (Big Ass Bitch).

Thankful for my sissy … because I get to have Bruno for a week next week. Yay for her having to go somewhere for a wedding! PS. Too excited for her own wedding festivities.

Thankful for my friends. Seriously knowing some of them would go out of their way to help me with something or just letting me know they’re thinking about me. Simple. Super thankful.

What are you thankful for?

[2013] 001/365: Year of the Snake

I decided to do Project 365 since it’s the start of the (Chinese) New Year.

For those that don’t know what that is, it’s a project in where you take ONE picture (or two or five thousand) a day as a reminder of life.

I’ve been writing in a calendar something good per day but this seems more memorable since it’s in the blog and all.

I don’t know if I’ll post every day or not. BUT I will take a picture everyday and try my best to post it everyday. If not then I’ll just pretend I posted it that day … when we all know I didn’t. Lies. I know.

Without further ado, here goes.

IMG_20130210_215023

Happy Chinese New Year, wonderfuls! It’s been a very relaxing weekend hanging out with the family. The members in our family dwindles down every year since we’re all so busy with work or school and such. But when we get together, it feels like old times. Given the only kids this time around was sissy, Brett, and I, we still had fun.

Since it’s the year of the snake, my year, it means I have bad luck. Therefore Mum, Dad, and June gave me an extra red envelope. Two of which has red string in it and I can’t use the money in it for a year. Used to ward off the bad. The other red string is tied around my wrist. Hope it works. I need all the good luck I can get.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Excuses Excuses

I love that having a blog, you don’t have to make timely posts. Obviously as you can tell I haven’t the past couple days. And after today, I probably won’t be able to post anything until Monday. That could include reading posts as well.

I’m going to go up to Dallas for some family time and I am so excited because we haven’t been together since May when I graduated and my brother graduated.

Don’t worry though. I’ll do recaps of last nights fun festivities along with this weekend’s once I get back from Dallas. Whoo … thank goodness for 4 day weekends!

Until then, have a great Labor Day weekend!

Thing Good Thoughts

Peace & Love
