Sweet Bliss

I wish every work week was only 3 days long … how much happier would the world be? Given not having everyone off at the same time cuz that’s just crazy. Having all day yesterday AND today off to do NOTHING is amazing. I feel much more refreshed and I’ve gotten SO much done than I’ve had in a long time. Oy … I make life seem so sad sounding.

A year ago today I was in my hometown seeing my Mum’s side of the family after not being back for almost 15 years. It’s surreal how much I could remember from when I was younger. I miss Mum’s side of the family and talk about all the fun I had last summer.

Hong Kong … I will see you again soon. Maybe 2015? Wait for me!

Before the fireworks.

I hope you all had a great Fourth! I got to see Samantha, Mallory, John, and Mallory’s Family for a good hour to watch fireworks near our house. I took an Instagram Vid … but it wouldn’t let me post it on here. LAME. Should of stuck with Vine.

Afterward, Samantha and I got hotdogs from Sonic. Apparently hotdogs are the definition of ‘merica. At least that’s what Samantha says. On the way back to my house we got stuck in traffic. Made use of our time and took selfies. Like her scarf? It’s an infinity scarf that I got her for her for part of her early birthday present.

I came home catching up on Pretty Little Liars. Rocky came upstairs (which he never does at night time) and is now sleeping on my bed. Love it since this show is TOO suspenseful.

It feels like the weekend is over and tomorrow should be Monday but I love that it’s only going to be Saturday!

Such sweet bliss.

Have a great weekend y’all!

[2013] 019/365: Best Probably Unhealthy Snack Ever

PicsArt_1362540709990 (1)

I had a Hong Kong snack day at work today. The best memories ever. I’m not sure how healthy it is for you … but who cares. The seaweed isn’t like the ones from sushi. It’s much crispier. So much yummier.

We use to drink this Lemon Tea when we were little kiddos back in Hong Kong. When we moved to America, we were so happy that they sold it here. We rarely bought it because it’s not that great for you but the times that I do … oh my. I only like Lemon Tea from Hong Kong. The way they make it here just isn’t right.

The seaweed on the other hand was introduced to me by Rachel this past summer. I was a little hesitant to try it but once I did I knew I was hooked. If you have this selling anywhere near you, you need to try it pronto.

I just want to go back to Hong Kong. Who’s down to go with me?

My after workout face. Haven’t taken a selfie in a while. Hair is ratchet. I hate that word but it’s true. I’m wearing my Ellie top if you can’t tell. 😉

Below was my dinner. I love this soup. I made it all throughout college. Water, cabbage, tofu, and Chinese meatballs (or just plain chicken breasts). I got Jenny making it to when we lived together. Oh college. Seemed like years ago.

Workouts have been going well. Come on perfect bod! haha jk.

Hump day tomorrow. FINALLY!

New Year, 2nd Blogoversary

It’s been a whirlwind of a year. Reason I started this blog on New Year’s Day is because I wanted a new start. And because I knew people did recaps every Blogoversary and New Year … and I’m too lazy to do it twice in one year sooooo yep. Here goes!

  • First time in a recording studio: back of a house type deal but it was cool to see how everything gets put together. Helped throw some ideas in. I loved it. I wish I was good enough for this line of work.

There has been so much going on this past year and there would be more if I was more consistent with my blogging. It’s been a year of ups and downs but the ups shine through more. I hope you all had a great 2012 because 2013 just begun and it’s going to be a great one!

Stay Positive! Think Good Thoughts!

Christmas Haul

IMG_20121219_160931

Last week we received something from Hong Kong. It was very exciting.

IMG_20121220_065216

Gifts from the coworkers. I also got a Christmas Card from one of my coworkers. Her family is so cutes.

IMG_20121219_213758

I went and sent a few cards for some friends because I LOVE snail mail. Nothing special. Just wanted to let them know I was thinking of them. I wanted to send more out but didn’t have addresses or time.

And now the presents from the fams! I’m not boasting or anything. Just wanted to keep a memory of the things I got this year!

Mum:

Popcorn kernels for my popcorn machine!! Yippee!! My brother’s been bugging me to make some for him but I haven’t. Whoops.

She also gave me an Estee Lauder makeup/clutch thing with some makeup samples inside that goes with Pleasure.

Dad:

My dad does this game where we choose numbers which indicates a different envelopes that has different amounts of money inside. I won the jackpot this year! Yippee!! I use to win the $5 or $10! 🙂

June:

I got an art set! I am TOO excited. I haven’t opened up because everything is so perfect right now. Do you get that way? Ah … cannot wait. Hopefully I make some smoking a** things!

Sissy & Brett:

My favorite … a You Curl Iron! I never knew how to curl my hair. Partly because I don’t want to damage my hair or burn myself but this seriously makes everything so easy! I think everyone should get one because it’s just so simple and fast and makes some bomb diggity curls! That’s my first time curling. Love it or hate it?

I’ve been practicing every day … aka killing my hair.

IMG_20121223_234828

Pumpkin Butter & Cookie Butter. It’s so perfect I haven’t even opened it yet. I haven’t tried them before but she knew I wanted to. I was beyond excited when I tore opened my package. What shall I eat with these lovelies?

Brother:

He gave me his computer monitor during Thanksgiving and that is part of my Christmas and birthday present. Hence no pictures in case y’all were wondering. 🙂

Tammy:

20121222_214754

Candles for my stanky room! The vanilla cupcake smells like heaven. I’m hurrying up with my old candle so I can pop one of these open! Eeep!

Jenny:

20121222_21481820121222_214743

A 2013 calendar. I already have a planner so I’m debating what to do with this one. Any ideas? I really do love it but I’m not sure what to do with it.

She also got me a egg maker thingie that makes eggs in a shape of a heart. I think I can use it with pancake batter too. Hmm … 😉

Alyssa & Greg:

So I just got this a yesterday but I love it. Anything that comes through snail mail wins my heart. That might answer the reason why I do online shopping so much. Anyway, it’s great hearing from her and I really do miss her. I cannot wait till she and her husband (ah we’re too grown up!) are back in Houston!

The weekend is here and work couldn’t have gone any slower these past few days.

I got the 31st off but I’m debating if I should go in or not … leaning towards not but who knows what’ll happen.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Is It My Birthday?

Because it feels like my birthday today.

One of our servers were down so I didn’t have to do a lot of my work til the end of the day.

And with that I went out for lunch with two coworkers, Shelly and Philippa, for Pho. PHO YEAH! ha Get it?

And when we got back, the power went out for a brief moment which means all the work I did POOF! gone! And no, I couldn’t have saved it if I wanted to. There’s no saving work at our job. You do until you click that button. Pfft … so a group of us got into an office and just talked for awhile. LOVE!

By the time we got our computers back up and running, it was time for cake. Yep, you read that right. CAKE. Someone was leaving and a new person was taking her place so we celebrate, in a way, for all her hard work. I didn’t eat cake. I gave my piece to the diabetic, Tony C. Yep. That’s right. He ate two pieces.

And by the time that ended, there was only a couple hours left. But it didn’t end there …

I pretty much get the mail everyday when I come home and today I got to turn the special key that goes into the box which always means there’s a big ass package inside that didn’t fit in your usual box! Happy danced in the middle of the street. One of my online shopping stuff came!

Then upon coming to the front door, another package awaited me. Two packages in one day?! Another happy dance in front of my house. Whoopie!! There had been problems with the new phone that I got in Hong Kong so I shipped it back to Kathy who got the problem fixed and sent it back to me along with some other stuff!

Now it works like a charm. I got a new phone and it’s better than yours. That’s all that matters.

And if that’s not enough, tomorrow is FRIDAY.

Which means I get to leave an hour early and possibly even early since I’ve worked overtime. And I get to eat lunch with Rose. AND going to a nearby shelter to search for a cute little face.

EEEEEP!

Think Good Thoughts, y’all!

Peace & Love

Nicole’s Bachelorette Party

622454_1665154799254_1668732371_o

The end of my passport from my Hong Kong trip.

Hong Kong. Macau. Taiwan.

Mum and I were going to stay for a little over a month to make it more fulfilling but I knew Alyssa was getting married August 4th so we made sure I had a couple days to recover from the trip. Jetlag and whatnot.

But then Nicole got engaged and somehow made the wedding the week before Alyssa’s. Thankfully we hadn’t booked our flight yet. But sadly we had to cut our trip even shorter.

So yeah, I’d like to think I’m a good friend giving up a little bit of my vacation to make it to their special day. And I’m happy I did because I. Cannot. Wait.

They are both going to be so lovely!

Nicole’s Bachelorette Party was pretty fun. It was great meeting new people though I didn’t really talk to much people. I gained weight eating the pound cake they cut up in little cubes at the sweets bar. I gained a pound for each cube I ate.

They be cute and stuff.

Tomorrow’s the big day for Nicole and I cannot wait!

Hopefully I’ll get some pretty pictures to show y’all. Hopefully.

Home Sweet Home

Bad blogger over here.

Did not take ANY pictures on the flights back cuz I was too tired to do anything. Plus, sitting on your ass for a good 15+ hours for one flight is hard enough … oh and not to mention a sweaty guy with big B.O. sitting next to me. Sorry, I don’t want to be mean but sitting next to someone like that for a good 15+ hours is hell.

I did however watch SEVEN movies while in air.

Yep. Seven.

  1. Race to Witch Mountain
  2. This Means War
  3. Welcome to the Riley’s
  4. One Day
  5. I Love Hong Kong 2012
  6. Glee: The 3D Concert Movie
  7. Coraline

I loved every single movie I watched. I cried in some of them. Embarrassing right? Crying on the plane … only me.

Whoever invented watching TV/Movies while flying is GENIUS! And the fact that it’s complimentary, you’ll be dumb not watching. Especially now with how plane tickets are CAH-RAZY!

I miss Hong Kong. I miss Macau. I miss Taiwan. And the people in it.

I am already planning on going back soon. Definitely NOT 15 years later like before.

I have 228 blog posts to go through in my Google Reader and as I type, it goes up a little at a time so late comments might occur. Beware.Winking smile
