Weekend of Lovelies

So … I’ve been feeling bleugh lately … hence the no blogging. Welps. But I have been keeping up with other people’s blog the best I can. Has to mean something, right?

IMG_20130621_144257

On Friday I went and gave blood with Mallory. Always love hanging out with this chica and doing something for others makes it that much better.

IMG_20130621_214733

Went and saw Sarah, my cousin, dance as a professional for the first time. This particular one was called Bosk which was based on a true story. It had bunnies and doers and alligators and such. Of course they were dressed up and not the actual kind. It was kind of the theatrical weird dance but I enjoyed it.

IMG_20130621_165045

Saturday I figured out how many magazines I have to go through. Oy vey. Not even 1/4th done.

20130622_113341

I promised a little girl, Rose’s daughter, Karen, I was going to teach her how to bake cupcakes. I got a free bagel sandwich out of it. YUM! Looks gross but it was so delicious. Bagel Cafe … now that I know you, you’re never leaving me!

20130622_13155920130622_131551

Karen gave me this. So smart making a heart out of the pipe cleaner!

IMG_20130622_131137

Finished product. We omitted the sour cream so the frosting wasn’t as creamy … but it made it taste more like dark chocolate. Some people liked it like that. Guess to all their own. Or whatever the saying is. I took the majority to Oslvado’s birthday celebration. Win. Win.

20130623_011824

We ate at Chili’s and partied at a club afterward. This is the only picture I liked of myself out of all the ones I had on my phone. Hopefully Ann doesn’t mind her being on the blog. Whooooops.

Thai House & Menchie’s

Ever hate having a WHOLE post written out and then stupid computer goes bizerk and shuts down the program.

Thanks … thanks a lot.

Friday, while at work, my sissy texted me this …

1349452020605_375873

Ah yes … she went to Trader Joe’s without me!! Rude! She said only got veggies and wine and waiting for me to get the good stuff. Um .. that is the good stuff! But I guess cookie butter and whatnot is good too …

But whatever … I got to go to lunch with Rose that day so all that “I’m stuck at work” went away.

We both got the Chicken Pad See Ewe [chicken or pork stir-fried with rice noodle, egg, broccoli, and bean sprouts in sweet brown sauce] | $10.95

And since we ordered from the Lunch Menu, all you can eat appetizer buffet. I got the Hot & Sour soup, some sushi, veggie eggroll, curry potato fried dumpling, and spring roll.

Knowing we were going to get dessert after, we didn’t fill ourselves up and actually had a lot of leftovers.

But in reality … to me, they weren’t up to par with any other Thai food places I’ve been to. I think they were only busy because it was lunch hour. And maybe those people came because they were thinking it would be fast service. It wasn’t. The service was pretty bad (they came out with the wrong dishes for us at first so that took a while) and the food wasn’t that amazing. Maybe we came on an off day but I wouldn’t come here again.

Enter dessert …

When I stepped foot into the store I knew I would love it … they were so organized and bright and happy! I got the red velvet, cake batter, and irish mint. I’m a less-fro-yo-more-topping type and oh em gee … they had the most toppings ever! All properly labeled and stored in their own pretty container! Rose is the opposite. More fro-yo less topping. She wasn’t a fan of some of the flavors she picked. In the end I loved it.

20121005_125534

The spoons themselves were enough to make me happy. Just look how cute they are!

Since I’ve been home, I haven’t had many adventures and I thought that this would be it for my weekend.

Boy was I wrong …

  • I really want to move to Colorado all because my blogger friends (we’re friends right?) along with real life friends who live there seem to love it. And because they almost always go hiking and camping and whatnot and take these breathtaking pictures. Oh and a plus … the cold. I would request a house with a porch all around it. Sitting in the cold with a hot cup of tea and a good book seems like the life. Maine seems like a good place as well … on the cold beach. Ahh yes.

  • I’m starting to like cheese and lunchmeat. What?! I know. I requested Mum to buy some and half the package of cheese is already gone … and that turkey meat … donezo. I like to wrap the cheese with lunchmeat inside. Minus the olives. I don’t like olives for sure. Pfft. It’s a phase. I’m sure I’ll be over it but for now … yummmm.
  • A friend of mine knows Jeff Schneeweis (I don’t know how to spell or SAY his last name. I had to look that up.) from the band Number One Gun … which brings me back to the time I use to listen to their music. I think it’s just a one man band now though. Their/his music and lyrics … so real and heartfelt. Christian bands makes the best music (eg. He Is We). I’m not religious so when I hear any type of Christian music I think of everything but God. The Best of You and Me is still my favorite which you can check out up above.

  • Currently reading the 2nd book of this series. I’m in love with it. I wish I was the main character. Even though she goes through some rough times it comes out so magical. Lame, I know. I finished Bridesmaid Lotto in less than a day … did I mention I was at work for most of it? Don’t worry, I finished my work first.

IMG_20121004_153757

  • We even had time to decorate someone’s office for their birthday. Come Monday, he’ll be so surprised since he’s out for his birthday. hehe

IMG_20121003_111325

  • And speaking of work, Rose and I talk on IM once in a while and she knows about my non existent love life and this is the great advice she gave me … along with practically everyone that’s ever talked to me about boys. Mmm … need to find a guy first. I have a lunch date with her tomorrow. Wonder what we will talk about then …

Okay … that’s enough bullets. I hope y’all have a great Friday!

Ruggles Green

Today was such a lax day.

Went to work earlier than usual and got a lot of stuff done.

20120824_08102620120824_064658

Then I took a break and had Tazo Green Tea and bagel with Laughing Cow Cheese … the best cheese because it’s spreadable. Try it if you haven’t. You’ll love it.

Then Osvaldo and Fatimah came over and visited me. Fatimah and I then went and visited Rose, David E., and Michelle H. Went back and did a little more work then went off to lunch with Rose and Amy N.

This is a really sweet restaurant! Reason? It’s Houston’s first Certified Green Restaurant!

20120824_120005

Their cool seating thing. You stick your card in which has your order and it tells the people in the kitchen which table you’re at. Cool, eh?

20120824_120429

Amy N.’s:

Ruggles Green Atlantic Salmon Salad [mixed greens, romaine, shaved carrots, boiled eggs, croutons, and queso fresco; tossed with mango ranch dressing and topped with chipotle honey seared salmon] | $15

Didn’t get to try it but she said it was DELICIOUS. The salmon looks dry because it’s so thin but she reassured me it wasn’t.

She said it’s a to try because it was so good.

20120824_120404

Rose’s:

Vegetable Pizza [tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, red onion, garlic, mozzarella, fontina and feta and pesto sauce; topped with baby arugula and balsamic vinegar] | $13

I tried it and it was delicious! Not a fan of the arugula but other then that … so  good. Pesto is always my favorite. And the flatness of the pizza was crispy yet it had enough chew. Does that even make sense?

20120824_120648

Mine:

Veggie Sourdough Panini [grilled eggplant, Portobello mushrooms, onions, zucchini, organic hummus, and fresh goat cheese on sourdough] | $9

So dang good! I got a side of Quinoa Tabouleh. Yum! I’m in love with Quinoa Tabouleh. Teach me to make it! The Panini was so juicy. Love my veggies.

20120824_120651 (1)

Mine:

Fire-Roasted Tomato Basil [served with crispy puff pastry dome and sliced mozzarella] | $6

YUM. I wasn’t a big fan of the puff pastry but the soup was SO good. It had a little spice to it.

Everything is SUPPOSE to be organic so it’s definitely costly but it’s worth the money.

After a wonderful meal, we went back in Amy N.’s car and uh … it wouldn’t start. After an hour in the parking garage her husband arrived and we switched cars so we could get back. Thank goodness. I did a little more work then it was time to go. I went down to visit Michelle H. again and we caught up a bit. It was nice.

Then it was time to look for a doggie! I went to CAP and SPCA.

20120824_18212020120824_182236

Two cuties. But I’m not sure. They look like they’ll be kind of big.

We’ll have to look around some more.

Bridal Expo tomorrow! I am excited!

Is It My Birthday?

Because it feels like my birthday today.

One of our servers were down so I didn’t have to do a lot of my work til the end of the day.

And with that I went out for lunch with two coworkers, Shelly and Philippa, for Pho. PHO YEAH! ha Get it?

And when we got back, the power went out for a brief moment which means all the work I did POOF! gone! And no, I couldn’t have saved it if I wanted to. There’s no saving work at our job. You do until you click that button. Pfft … so a group of us got into an office and just talked for awhile. LOVE!

By the time we got our computers back up and running, it was time for cake. Yep, you read that right. CAKE. Someone was leaving and a new person was taking her place so we celebrate, in a way, for all her hard work. I didn’t eat cake. I gave my piece to the diabetic, Tony C. Yep. That’s right. He ate two pieces.

And by the time that ended, there was only a couple hours left. But it didn’t end there …

I pretty much get the mail everyday when I come home and today I got to turn the special key that goes into the box which always means there’s a big ass package inside that didn’t fit in your usual box! Happy danced in the middle of the street. One of my online shopping stuff came!

Then upon coming to the front door, another package awaited me. Two packages in one day?! Another happy dance in front of my house. Whoopie!! There had been problems with the new phone that I got in Hong Kong so I shipped it back to Kathy who got the problem fixed and sent it back to me along with some other stuff!

Now it works like a charm. I got a new phone and it’s better than yours. That’s all that matters.

And if that’s not enough, tomorrow is FRIDAY.

Which means I get to leave an hour early and possibly even early since I’ve worked overtime. And I get to eat lunch with Rose. AND going to a nearby shelter to search for a cute little face.

EEEEEP!

Think Good Thoughts, y’all!

Peace & Love

Survived My First Week!

First things first … I am WAY behind on my Google Reader. But TRUST … I will get through it!

Fingers crossed … hopefully this weekend.

It’s been a fun but tiring first week and now it’s the rest of my life. I’m not complaining. I have a job, food, and shelter.

And maybe I’ll still have my friends. I’ve been too busy to hang out with anyone.

Hopefully that’ll change once I get use to this schedule.

IMG_20120809_110155

The way my building looks out to a wonderful scenery.

IMG_20120808_094623

What I snack on the most when I get hungry – ALMONDS!

IMG_20120809_132049

One of my favoritest (that’s a word … don’t question me) things I miss about school – new supplies!
Oh, did I mention they are free! And I picked them out from this BIG BIG Staples Catalogue! Weeee! Smile

So since I made it to one whole week. I celebrated today.

2012-08-10 08.12.47

My co-worker, Tony C., and I went and bought breakfast at our work’s Café instead of making my own breakfast at home.

2012-08-10 11.38.41

Then for lunch I went with Rose to Subway.
It was nice to catch up with her after not seeing her for so, so long.
We laughed, joked, and all that fun stuff.

Oh, did I mention on Friday’s I get to leave an hour early. Win!

So I went shopping!

When I got home, Mum, June, and I went to a Mexican Restaurant down the street for dinner.
(No picture!)
And we talked and joked and all that fun stuff.

Hope y’all had a good week as well.
Lack of postings will occur until I get use to this schedule.
Bare with me!
I am at the moment trying to put together a workout plan and I am PUMPED!

Till next time,
Peace & Love Y’all!

Best Friday All Summer

I’ve been eating a lot of OOIAJ. Seriously … if you were to have asked me back last month if I would like eating oats, my answer would be “NO WAY JOSE!”

IMG_4858

My favorite is simply vanilla yogurt, milk, oats, pb, a little Nutella, and a lot of blueberries. YUM!

Yesterday I got to work and finished the project that I was assigned. Whooooo! Surprised smile

Michelle H. came in and we talked about America’s debt. I wished the government took time out to see who they’re giving money to. There are people out there that cheat the government. There are some college kids who take financial aid and loans and use it for vacations or buy things they don’t need instead of school. There are women and men who can fully well work but chose not to and ask for food stamps. Some even have a billion kids so that they can get even more welfare. I think that is ridiculous. That is why we’re in debt people. If the government works harder to see who really needs it, they won’t be that much in debt as they are. That’s my two cents. End of rant.Steaming mad

Then Rose, kid Karen, and baby Katherine came to visit the office. I left from work early at 1pm to go to lunch with them. Cheddar’s! Yum!!

Karen is such a delight. I love her! I was sad when we all had to leave. But a little happy I didn’t have to had back to the office.

Later that night I went over to Michelle’s house. (A different Michelle than Michelle H. … just to be clear.Winking smile) Her house is amazing like I’ve said before. This time I have pictures of their movie theater room!

IMG_4863

They have four recliners!! Five counting the one on the side by itself. From left to right is Michelle, Nicole, and Stephanie. Inside that closet are loads and loads of DVDs, home videos, and devices where you can buy movies instantly and watch them! SO jealous!

IMG_4864

They even had a popcorn machine! How cool is that?! Michelle’s dad came up and made us some. Thanks Mister Reed!

IMG_4869

So freaking dang cute! And so freaking dang good! There’s a separator at the bottom so all the kernels that didn’t pop would fall through. So dang genius!

Like my nail?! I painted a old school pink then the shatter polish on top. I really like them. I want to get other shatter colors now. Addicted? Guess so!

IMG_4866

Look at that dang screen! So big! (I need to stop saying dang!)

Don’t worry. We didn’t watch Insidious. I told them to never invite me over if they were ever to chose a scary movie.Crying face I would pee my pants and maybe a little more than pee if you catch my drift.Smile with tongue out

Limitless where you take a pill and you can do things you never thought you could.

Pretty much my summary of the movie. I loved it and Bradley Cooper makes it that much better. The ending when he speaks Chinese .. kind of butchers the whole movie for me. But still good.

IMG_4860IMG_4870

Meet Jake, the lab. Meet Tigger, the tabby cat. And meet Dexter, the grey kitty. All animals in Michelle’s house. So cute!

When I got home a little over 1am, I watched another movie before bed.

My Future Boyfriend: Barry Watson’s character travels back in time from year 3000 something to ask a writer questions about what love, passion, sex, etc. is since in their year, there is no such thing.

Barry Watson is so cute. I loved him from 7th Heaven. Sara Rue lost a lot of weight. She used to be on a show called Popular. Anyway, this was a cute movie about traveling back in the future finding love, etc. I watched this off Netflix if anyone’s interested.

I think I can say this Friday was the best Friday all summer!Open-mouthed smile
