The Boiling Crab

After a long day of shopping, Jenny, Sammi and I waited in a long line (1 hour +) for:

2012-05-19 19.46.25

The Boiling Crab
10560 Walnut Street #100
Dallas, Texas
(972) 272-7086

2012-05-19 21.13.34

I forgot the price which doesn’t even matter because it’s market price. It comes with corn and potatoes. Yum! I believe I got 3 lbs. worth.

Seriously … one of the best crawfish I’ve ever had. Worth. The. Wait.

They have one in Houston and I am aiming to go to that one next year when crawfish is in season.

Everyone. Go Go Go!

Suma Veggie Café & Jeng Chi Restaurant

Before my brother’s graduation, Jenny and Tammy took me to:

2012-05-18 12.33.02

Suma Veggie Café
800 East Arapaho Road #120
Richardson, Texas
(972) 889-8598

2012-05-18 12.36.46

Lunch Buffet [all you can eat!] | $7.35

Their buffet was small but how many vegetarian food can they make? Some foods tasted bland while others were doused in sauces … or fried.

It’s a family owned, small little restaurant. I don’t hate it. But then again, I don’t love it. If you are vegetarian I think this is a great place to go to, else, I’ll stay away and eat my mum’s vegetarian food.

The next day for lunch, Jenny and Sammi took me to:

2012-05-19 13.11.15

Jeng Chi Restaurant
400 North Greenville Avenue #19
Richardson, Texas
(972) 669-9094

2012-05-19 13.20.28

Chicken Cold Noodle | $5.45

So good. It reminds me of when I was around the age of 12 and my mum made it after watching a Chinese show on telly. The coldness tasted so great with that hot summer heat.

2012-05-19 13.21.07

Small Juicy Steamed Dumplings [8] | $5.95

But then this counteracted with it with the steaming soup. These are my favorite types of dumplings. A squirt of soup wrapped up. If you ever go to a Chinese restaurant and they have this, try it! You will love it! And if you don’t … I don’t think we can be friends anymore.

2012-05-19 13.23.46

Green Onion Pancake [1] | $2.50

These are never my favorite. But Jenny and Sammi loves them so they got it. Tried it and loved it. They make it so differently. It is actually crispy on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. Whereas the other places I’ve ever had it is just crispy all over. Bleugh. So that was a surprise.

2012-05-19 13.27.49

Pork and Leek Boiled Dumplings [12] | $4.95

I love dumplings. LOVE. If you don’t we can’t be friends. I’m a bigger fan of dumplings if it has less meat and more flour skin. Though these aren’t like that, it was still so dang good.

I want to come here for lunch every time I’m in Dallas. Go here. Try the food. You won’t regret it!

Cloud 9

Workout today … nada. I am going to break a sweat later moving things so check!

Yesterday was one of the best days in my book.

Hung out with Jenny in the morning. Saw Shayna and Patricia again. Martina drove from downtown to come see me for a little over an hour. Saw Eli. Saw Bob, my FTK advisor, Jennifer, Evelyn, and Arianna, CPE people. Saw Gary again and hung out with him for a good 3 hours. We caught up and it felt nice. Travis came over and we spoke for a little bit. Seeing my Brother Bear in person is different than through the computer screen, that’s for sure.

Saw him and that made all the difference. It was nice. He was running errands so he asked me to join him and I’m glad I did. He came to pick me up and I went and plopped his present in his lap. I hope he liked his gift; he seemed to have. I got him a preserved baby shark, bottle opener ring, and made him a mixed cd. And the card. Cannot forget the card! But I made sure he didn’t open the card in front of me. That’s just weird. Then we headed to a local bookstore. I love books and I’m so glad he had to go there. Wish I knew about it before though because I would of taken the long drive there to study and whatnot. Then we took a walk around the place. They have some nice scenery and things going on. He took some amazing pictures. We ran a few more errands before he took me back home. I’m not sure if he had fun but running errands had never been so fun to me.

I jumped into my car and went to Cheddar’s to meet up with Amanda, Patricia, Matthew P., Steven, Eric, and his friend Jorge, and Christina. We had a fun non-stop laughing dinner. A few of us were going to go to Kona afterward but because it was packed we all went to Eric’s to chill and Andy L. finally showed up. Life was complete.

When I got home, Jenny and I chilled a little bit and my brother, Tammy, and Sammi arrived.

It was a good day. And I’m still on cloud 9. Is that possible?

Today, I’ll be saying goodbye to San Antonio. I don’t think I’ll be coming back till November. Hopefully it’ll be earlier than that. Fingers cross because some of the people I met here are truly family.

Sorry. Long post about nothing pretty much. I actually just really wanted to remember the moment with him because I don’t know if I’ll have that chance again.

Forgive me.

Spring Creek Barbeque

Since Tammy, Jenny, and Sammi were leaving back to Dallas we went to:

2011-12-26 19.22.34

Spring Creek Barbeque
21000 Katy Freeway
Katy, TX
(281) 829-0359

They do things very differently here.

The cost of your food depends on what you order meat-wise.

And the sides (pinto beans, potato salad, coleslaw, corn, mac & cheese, green beans) along and bread are on the house – all you can eat!

But if you wanted to get baked potatoes, french fries, okra, or side salad, you would have to pay extra.

2011-12-26 19.37.16

Ribs | $11.95

I got the ribs as you can tell. They were delicious. You can get bbq sauce on top or in a sauce cup. I got it on top.

For the sides, I got a roll, a slice of onion, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and potato salad.

Yes the sides are all you can eat but they were heavy and … unhealthy.

For the taste though, let’s just say I ate another roll, more green beans, a very tiny bit of potato salad.

I would come back here but not for a little while. They really do pack on the meat.

It was fun getting to reminisce with the cousins. I love that we grew up so close together. So many memories …

We played Outburst for Juniors. We were put into two teams. Me, Tammy, and Cousin. Brother, 2 Cousins, and Jenny.

Four against three. We won!!

Then we played Chinese Checkers. Jenny won by the victory of everyone. We helped her out and she ended up being first place. Funny huh?

Hope your Christmas was just as wonderful!! Open-mouthed smile

Call Your Girlfriend!

I was reading up on blogs and this was on Ali’s Thankful Things Thursday: Happy Holidays! post.

It’s a song by Robyn called “Call Your Girlfriend”.

The video is kind of weird and funky but I like the song. It’s catchy. Only thing is, it’s a song about cheating. Which I hate.

But now it’s stuck in my head and hopefully in yours as well. Smile

Tomorrow my brother will be coming home with Tammy, Jenny, Sammi, and the dogs.

Eeep! Excited. Open-mouthed smile

Catch Up

Finally back in San Antonio.

This Thanksgiving has been a fast pace one with LOTS of traveling!

I think I spent a total of a day and a half in the car with the different cities and stores and restaurants I went to.

A recap of Thanksgiving break with some links to previous written post during the break. Open-mouthed smile

On Tuesday afternoon, I got out of class and Jenny and I left to Dallas. We were stuck in traffic and finally made it six hours later. Had pho and chilled a little with her family and my brother. Then we went to bed.

On Wednesday, I woke up to Jenny’s sister, Sammi, knocking on the door wanting to watch Cyberbully so we did. Then we got ready left the house at around 2pm with my brother, Jenny, Tammy, Sammi, and their mum. We went and ate at Doan Restaurant, shopped at some mall, then went and ate at Mr. Wok for my brother’s birthday. We played a board game after dinner. Fun stuff!! Quelf. Y’all should check that out!

On Thursday, Thanksgiving day, the brother and I drove bright and early to Houston. No traffic so it was PERFECT. I’m thankful for many things but there were a few I mentioned. We had my sister’s boyfriend and his roommate over. It was great fun with lots of laughter. We also played Quelf. Seriously, go check it out!

On Friday, it was my Mum’s birthday as well as Black Friday. I went to eat dim sum with the Grandma, Uncle, and cousin, as well as with my family. Then we walked around to many places to buy things. I bought a lot of stuff online that night. The family and I went to a buffet place to celebrate mum’s birthday. Then we went home and played card games.

On Saturday, the brother and I drove back to Dallas bright and early. Again, no traffic. We went to In-n-Out with Jenny and Tammy then walked around the mall. I even bought some cute booties!! We then all took a nap before getting ready and heading to The Ranch for my brother and Tammy’s birthday dinner with their friends. Afterward we went to J.Black’s and Barcadia, two bars. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of people! Brother, Jenny, Tammy, and I got home around 2:30am and opened all the presents people gave them and stayed up talking until 5am! Ridiculous huh?

On Sunday, we all woke up around 11am?, got ready, and ate lunch with their parents and Sammi at a Chinese place. Yum! Then we went back to their house and packed up to leave. We were stuck in the car for 8 hours due to traffic. I even watched The Help in the car because I was so bored. We finally made it to Austin to drop off Tammy, and San Antonio for Jenny and I.

It’s definitely been a lot of traveling but it was worth it being with family, meeting new people, and eating great foods!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as well!! Christmas, I’m waiting for you! Winking smile

Full House

If you read my last post you would know my brother, Tammy, Jenny, Krypto, and Pluto came down from Dallas/San Antonio. Sweeeeet!! Sadly Sammi didn’t follow them down. Apparently her last day of school is today and she wanted to stay with her friends for one more day. Tomorrow my sissy is coming with maybe Brett? So yay!! Full house.

Thinking them coming down might wreck my running plans since they are guests, minus brother. But I made sure I fit it in my schedule. I went home and my brother, Tammy, and Pluto actually just got in as well. I changed, and went running. Came back and Jenny was still no where to be found so I had time to relax a little before she arrived with Krypto.

We waited til my dad got home before we all sat down to eat dinner. Tomorrow should be a good dinner. So many people. Plus I think for dinner we’re doing a hot pot! YUM!

Anyway, the point of this post was how happy I am that I stuck to my running schedule no matter what was going on around me.

Happy June 1st!

Oh wow .. June is already here. I’m happy I updated some posts those last few days of May. I still have a few more to do and I would have been caught up! Hoping I can do it all by the end of this weekend but we’ll have to see. It’s my Dad’s birthday weekend. And today Jenny, Tammy, and Sammi are coming down with my Brother including Krypto and Pluto!!

Mum, June, and I are thinking of taking a little vacation in Dallas. Cannot wait to plan the places we’ll eat.

Also, I’ve been looking at different 5k races. I have an urge to sign up for one. Ah! What to do?! I’m afraid if I sign up for one and pay and everything, I might not be able to do it that day if something comes up. How does anyone know what could happen …

Okay. I have to get back to work now. Sometimes Online Training can be tiring. Half an hour before lunch! Mmmm … leftovers. My favorite!

Buffalo Grille

During Spring Break, all of us were back home so we went out for breakfast with the sissy downtown on March 13th.

Buffalo Grille
3116 Bissonnet Street
Houston, TX
(713) 661-3663

I don’t know what it is about chalkboard menus. They make me so happy. I want to have a chalkboard wall in my house in the future but instead of using chalk, use chalk pens. Less mess.

I ordered the Build Your Own Omelet: 3 eggs, bell pepper, onions, mushrooms, spinach, and sausage. It was okay. There wasn’t much taste. Felt like it was super bland but I guess it’s good if you’re trying to eat healthy. It starts off with 3 eggs and a side of bread for $3.60. Every time you add a veggie, you add $0.65, Every time you add a meat, cheese, or sauce, $0.95.

When you build your own omelet you get a side of bread. You can change your choice of bread for $1.00. You should know by now my love for potatoes, therefore I changed it to hashbrowns. Bad choice. These were paper thin and dried. It tasted more like radish thinly sliced. I had to put a buttload of ketchup on it. I don’t like wasting food. I should of changed it to one of the other choices.

My sister said this place is very famous and very yummy. I do not agree and don’t think I will ever step foot here again. Terrible, terrible experience!
