[2013] 008/365: Evening Primrose Oil

IMG_20130217_221452

On the drive back home after a much needed relaxing weekend with Michelle. It was great getting it after such busy weekends. *sigh* It was great seeing her and now she’s possibly reading my every words. Eep! I love you, Michelle! Thanks for having me!

Anyway, have you ever heard of Evening Primrose Oil? I’ve been Pinteresting and found out their worth. Given I’m not 100% sure if it’s believable, but what’s the harm in trying, eh?

Evening Primrose Oil is said to be “a great anti-aging supplement seeing improvement in skin tightening and preventing wrinkles. Helps with hormonal acne, PMS, weight control, chronic headaches, menopause, endometriosis, joint pain, diabetes, eczema, MS, infertility, hair, nails, and scalp.”

I took my first pill tonight and I will update on it once it’s sunken in for a few days or so. Hopefully it’ll help my eczema and everything else that’s possibly wrong with me. Fingers crossed!

If you’ve taken it or heard of it before, let me know what you think!

Today was the end of THON 2013 and they raised over $12 million! They never cease to amaze. So wished I was there. Makes you feel SO SO SO alive. Sadly a lot of them couldn’t get into the BJC since it was super packed. Oh well … that just means they’re that great!

Michelle sent me this and it made me all happy inside. Dexter misses me! teehee

[2013] 007/365: A Lazy Day in Lufkin

PicsArt_1361065311630

My favorite of any days is being lazy. I watch episodes of Doctor Who and even watching multiple Harry Potter movies.

Dexter the cat has been good company. He mostly just wants to be touched. This is the first time I’ve “lived” with a cat. Other than the kitty litter smell, I think they’re pretty cool.

You can see the Valentine’s Day Run from For The Love of The Kids. They gave free things along with it because they are amazing. I did my run yesterday morning before heading to Lufkin but they were having problems with their system. It was in the 50s this time around. Eep … seriously need to start training again.

I’ve been watching THON live online a few hours here and a few minutes there. So wishing I was there but I wouldn’t trade hanging out with Michelle either. Our schedules (mostly her’s now) is so busy that whatever time we can get, I’ll take.

You can stop reading if you don’t want to hear about food.

In any case, hope you all had a great Saturday! I know am. More Harry Potter movies. Relaxation at it’s finest.

I love this place. Whenever I see one I want to go and I was so happy when Michelle said we could stop there for a super late breakfast/late lunch.

I ordered The Supreme Omelet [sausage, bacon, sautéed onions & mushrooms with Cheddar Jack served with an English muffin and seasoned country potatoes] | $9.99

I died … I just love their country potatoes SO freaking much. I can’t even explain it. Their food is so good. Oh and we ate for a while and the inside of my omelet was still hot. That’s how it should be.

If you ever see one of these somewhere, stop by and try it out. If it’s not good, let me know … I won’t stop there.

Ah … you’ve guessed it. Chinese food for dinner.

We got Chicken and Brocolli with Rice & Eggroll, Beef and Brocolli with Fried Rice & Eggroll, and Vegetables and Lo Mein.

Food was good.

I told Michelle that we don’t get to eat this fake stuff at home so it’s fun to do so once in a while. She now has a ton of leftovers. teehee

[2013] 005/365: Valentine’s Day

IMG_20130214_190604

THON begins tomorrow. I wish I was in Penn State with the rest of my FTKers that got to go this year. But it’s okay. FTK lives on no matter where you are in the world. I have it with me pretending I am physically there.

I got a chocolate cover strawberry from a coworker on the down low. It’s pretty sweet since I mean that’s all I wanted for Valentine’s day. The sprinkles makes it that much better. Make me DARK chocolate covered strawberries and I will be your best friend!

The doggie is a card Jane sent me. I feel very special. Her handwriting is to die for. And just getting mail makes me all tingly inside.

Two more red envelopes to add to my collection. Thanks Aunt Katie!

Samantha and I are now sitting on the couch watching Doctor Who. We had dinner of tamales and chili with cornbread. Thanks Sam! Yum Yum in my Tum Tum.

Time to just relax. No work tomorrow and getting to see one of my best friends later that night for the whole weekend? Too excited!

Happy Valentine’s Day y’all!

New Year, 2nd Blogoversary

It’s been a whirlwind of a year. Reason I started this blog on New Year’s Day is because I wanted a new start. And because I knew people did recaps every Blogoversary and New Year … and I’m too lazy to do it twice in one year sooooo yep. Here goes!

  • First time in a recording studio: back of a house type deal but it was cool to see how everything gets put together. Helped throw some ideas in. I loved it. I wish I was good enough for this line of work.

There has been so much going on this past year and there would be more if I was more consistent with my blogging. It’s been a year of ups and downs but the ups shine through more. I hope you all had a great 2012 because 2013 just begun and it’s going to be a great one!

Stay Positive! Think Good Thoughts!

So Glad To Be Back

I’ve been in San Antonio since 6:20pm.

Yes. I hauled ass here right after work. Ugh work. I was stuck in two two hour + meetings. A break long enough for lunch. Don’t even get me started. Some people talk too dang much …

42

Anyway, my night has already been filled with tears and laughter.

Tears: I made sure to get here so I can make it to FTK Movie Night … featuring THON from Penn State. Why they THON and the reason why I gave my life to FTK. I cried pretty much throughout their documentary. Memories. I’m not much of a toucher but those long ass hugs can bring me to tears because I can feel that they miss me and you don’t get much of those anymore.

Laughter: Just being around these people again. They bring me back to life. And these new memories will stay forever. I’m so thankful for all the friendships I’ve made here. We can say “Remember when …” with a few words and laugh our heads off. Memories. And just seeing my advisors and we can still talk and laugh … that’s hard to come by nowadays as well.

So thankful.

I’m currently sleeping in Gary’s living room on an air mattress. First time on one and it feels so funky. Like a waterbed. hehe He and Matthew H. are already asleep but oh gosh … they are so cute and I am so glad I’m getting to know Matt more! I was even comfortable enough to play my guitar and sing to him … with Gary there of course.

Excited for what’s to come so there’s a possible no updates or anything from me. Therefore, enjoy your weekend and I hope it’s filled with laughter and happiness.

Stay Positive & Think Good Thoughts!

Peace & Love

Think Good Thoughts: Living

FTK Co-Rec Soccer is in the Playoffs and we won our game tonight! Whoop! Smile I played a little bit but with shin splints and all it was hard so I was sad but we did great!

And now onto Thankful Thursday!

I’m thankful I got to go to THON. I got to see things that not many people have a chance to see. I am hoping I can go next year to relive it again. Fingers crossed! I probably can’t go with the group again since I would have graduated but maybe a reunion or something?

I am thankful I am alive. I tend to think about a lot of things when I drive. Most of the time when I’m quiet, I’m thinking about something. Driving or not. Good or bad. I drove to a lot of places today that gave me time to think that I almost got into, give or take, 5-7 car accidents. I actually rammed into a stone wall while backing out tonight after taking someone home. Yes, it was that bad.

I’m thankful I have friends like Shayna and Patrica. I’m sitting in their living room watching the telly and typing this out while they are asleep. Yes, another schedule post written in the past! We had a girl’s night. Much needed for all of us. We drank wine and watched Criminal Minds so I could stop thinking about everything while I worked on some FTK stuff … of course. I’m not able to tell them all the little details of things but I’m able to tell the gist since they were kind of there for everything.

I’m thankful for my FSA big, Rex. I bumped into him in the halls today and he knew something was wrong because I wasn’t smiling for the first time. I didn’t tell him anything and insisted I was not sad. But with his hug, tears welled in my eyes. There are so many people who are there for me when I least expect it, yet I’m never able to open up.

I am thankful for my siblings. Given I don’t tell them anything that goes on with me but if I get a text or a message on Facebook, just seeing it makes my day. Especially when they send me cute pictures of their doggies, aka my nephews. I cannot wait too meet my newest nephew! I’m not sure if they decided to change his name or not but he’s two years old. Sissy, Brett, and Ross got him at the pound.

There are other things I’m thankful for of course. The list can go on. But right now, those are what holds dear to my heart.

I hope everyone has a Thankful Thursday! Think of all the good that you have and the bad will slowly disappear, hopefully.

Penn State: Day 5

Time to head home.

But before home, where else would we go for breakfast but to The Corner?

2012-02-20 07.33.18

YUM!

We headed back to the hotel. Finished packing. Then went on our 3+ hour bus ride to Baltimore Airport. Where we had lunch and then we waited for 2+ hour before boarding our airplane.

Funny story: I thought I lost my ticket so when I got to the table, the lady told me I had to find it or buy another ticket. I freaked out, everyone called our advisors, and in the end … I found my ticket. And then the lady said it was a joke and she could of fixed it for us. Jerk much? Anyway, I got made fun of the rest of the trip which I don’t mind because it was a little funny and I feel a whole lot of stupid.

We were on the plane for a good 1+ hour until we landed in the Tennessee Airport. Waited for people to board on and then we went on our 2+ hour trip to San Antonio.

Coming back was a relief. I was so tired sitting down. But now I’m so tired all around.

Going on this trip was a privilege not many people have. If you ever get the chance, I advise you to go and have fun! It’s seriously a great experience and it will change your life.

I didn’t want to come home because things up there were simpler. And let’s not forget, not having to study was a plus though maybe I should have. I also didn’t want to come back because of some things that I’m scared about and that now I have to take care of.

It’s been a great trip and I wouldn’t of had it any other way. Some of the people I went with are amazing. They love and live for things like this. I’ve made new memories and bonded closer to some friends. Unforgettable.

Tonight,
We are young.
So let’s set this world on fire.
We can burn brighter,
Than the sun.
